Titleist 2026 driver release

2026 Titleist driver release cycle

When Titleist unveils a new driver generation, it’s not just another club – it marks a new chapter in their pursuit of speed, stability, and feel. Below is a look back at the last four major Titleist driver releases all the way back to 2018, complete with their commercial or retail launch dates and the innovations that defined them. In this article we take a look at the previous release dates and think ahead to when we can expect a 2026 Titleist driver!

Titleist TS drivers - released September 2018

The first time we heard the name ‘Titleist Speed – TS’ was with the TS2 and TS3 drivers which were released in September 2018. This was a culmination of the huge amount of R&D work that had gone into ‘Project Speed’. Titleist went into incredible detail with the TS2 and TS3 drivers to try and extract the maximum amount of speed from the driver. The result was two driver options both of which were engineered to create a faster ball speed with higher launch numbers along with low spin levels, and increased MOI creating more distance and forgiveness.

Titleist TSi drivers - released September 2020

The TS drivers brought enormous success for Titleist and in September 2020 we got our first glimpses of what was to come when Titleist put their TSi2 and TSi3 through their Tour proving process. The full release of the TSi2 and TSi3 drivers came in October 2020 and was an instant success for the brand. Titleist staffers immediately added them to their bags and we saw the likes of Justin Thomas, Jordan Speith and Patrick Cantlay all making the switch. The TSi2 was developed with massive speeds in mind and consistent accuracy across the face. Improved aerodynamics created more speed and with the new shape came a new sound that is incredibly satisfying. The TSi3 allows more precise control over the CG placement and includes an adjustable CG track that provides settings for speed-tuned performance. The faces of both the TSi2 and TSi3 are made from ATI 425 Aerospace Titanium that helps to deliver increased ball speed in every area of the face.

Titleist 2022 Driver

In the same way that TS2 and TS3 came first, followed by the TS1 and TS4, the TSi driver lineup was finalized with TSi1 and TSi4 which was released in February 2021. Unlike the TS1 and TS4 however the TSi1 and TSi4 were released at the same time. Similar to the TS1, the TSi1 was aimed at Golfers with a moderate (90mph or less) swing speed that are looking to increase both club and ball speed. With roughly 30% of all Golfers swinging at these speeds it makes up a huge target market for Titleist.

With the TSi4 the same aim of increasing the ball speed whilst maintain ultra-low spin levels was front of mind during the design process. With Golfers who need aggressive spin reduction in order to aid their distance the TSi4 was the go-to choice.

Titleist TSR drivers - released September 2022

Titleist 2024 driver release
The Titleist TSR family of drivers was a huge success on Tour.

The TSR lineup of drivers from Titleist are the TSR1, TSR2, TSR3 and TSR4 were some of the most successful Titleist have ever created, particuarly on tour. These models built on the massive success of the original TS and TSi models which sold prolifically for Titleist. The TSR2, 3 and 4 were first released in September 2022 but we first noticed them appearing as part of Titleist tour proving period which occurred in July/August 2022. The TSR1 arrived in January 2023 which differs from previous years when the 1 and 4 models were released together.

Titleist GT drivers - released August 2024

Titleist GT Drivers
Titleist officially made the GT driver line available in golf shops beginning Friday, August 23, 2024. In advance of that retail launch, the models (GT2, GT3, GT4) had already made a splash on Tour, debuting on Tour at the Memorial Tournament in June 2024. This was the first time the ‘4’ model was available at initial release also, typically coming alongside a ‘1’ model.

When the GT line hit the market in late August 2024, it signaled a new era: Titleist sought to surpass the TSR series in every dimension – speed, forgiveness, sound, feel – not just incrementally, but comprehensively. The drivers introduced a carbon-crown material (PMP carbon) to reduce mass, fine-tuned Speed-Ring VFT (variable face thickness) designs for better off-centre performance, and retained a multi-model strategy (GT1 through GT4) to suit varying swing types. Early testers praised the GT family for combining distance and consistency with a refined playing experience.

So when will Titleist release their 2026 driver?

With all that in mind we can see that there is a pattern to Titleist driver releases. A new driver lineup appears to occur every 24 months putting a possible 2026 Titleist driver release around September/October 2026. The 2nd iterations usually follow some 6-7 months later but similar to the GT release, we may again see three variants available on day one.

We’ll therefore be keeping a close eye on any glimpses of the 2026 Titleist driver so make sure you check back here for the latest updates and news on what we can expect. The first glimpse we’ll likely get will be when the drivers are added to the USGA and R&A conforming lists and we’ll update this post as soon as we know more!
