With the new year just around the corner we typically start to get our first look at the upcoming drivers from leading manufacturers. The most recent of these being the new 2021 Callaway Epic Max driver. The previous version of the Callaway Epic Flash brought with it ‘Flash Face Technology’ and was the the first-ever driver to be engineered using artificial intelligence (AI) with the aim of generating more ball speed.
The Epic also brought with jailbreak technology which essentially changed the way the head and club face behaved at impact in order to deliver more ball speed and distance. Jailbreak was designed using two titanium bars which sit behind the face connected on either end to the crown and sole.
The images above were first posted on Reddit, Instagram and Twitter shows the new Callaway Epic Max which includes a ‘jailbreak speed frame’. The frame apparently includes four jailbreak elements, building on the two that featured in the Callaway Epic Flash. Also of note is the continuation of the adjustable weight track which previously came with a sliding 16-gram weight. The aim of this was to to enhance the MOI in order to deliver range of shot-shape corrections.
Needless to say we’ll be following developments of the new Callaway Epic Max driver closely and when further details emerge we’ll keep you updated!
