Callaway are confident they have made a big step forward in the design of wedges and the performance offered to Golfers. The JAWS Mack Daddy 5 delivers a new level of spin whilst not sacrificing versatility.
The biggest enhancement centers on the grooves which is a leap forward from the technology seen in the MD4’s. The grooves elevated design creates fantastic stopping power and provides superb levels of spin. The new groves are made to the tightest design specifications Callaway have ever produced, and for those looking to get the ball stopped quickly on the greens from 100 yards or less, then the Mack Daddy 5 is well suited to that task.

By elevating the groove-sharpness a new level grip and spin is immediately apparent from all lies. It’s particularly effective on shots from 80 yards and in, producing the “one hop and stop” trajectory that players love.
On top of this the spin is highly consistent without sacrificing the unique Callaway wedge feel, something Callaway pride themselves on. The overall shape of the wedge itself will be familiar at address to all previous model users. It provides reassurance even over some of the most clutch shots.
Callaway are sticking with the existing S, X and W grinds whilst also developing further the C grind with a reduced bounce and wider area in the middle of the sole.

The difference between the grind variants are as follows:
C-Grind provides more tolerance from the heel and toe areas and provide increased forgivesness with 8° of bounce, available in 54°, 56°, 58° and 60°.
Lower Bounce W-Grind is a variation of the W-Grind which has a tapered heel available in 58° and 60°.
S-Grind has an increased level of bounce at 10°. Suited to most swings the full range of 46°, 48°, 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, 60° and even up to 64° (think Phil!)
X-Grind incorporates a narrow, crescent shaped sole with 12° bounce. Available in 58° and 60°.
Finally the stock W-Grind suited to a steeper swing with a heel that provides a moderate level of releif. Available in 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, 60°.
