The TaylorMade Truss Putter – delivering stability and forgiveness

The TaylorMade Truss putters were recently released with TaylorMade looking to offer Golfers the stability and forgiveness of a mallet combined with a more traditional putter look at address. The result is the performance of a high-MOI putter, packaged in a familiar shape.

The first thing you notice is the topline of the putter, which sits cleanly and reveals a compelling hosel structure which is the signature of the Truss. By creating multiple contact points along with the topline, the Truss hosel design decreases the levels of unsupported mass and deflection at impact, creating truer and straighter putters.

A huge amount of R&D from TaylorMade went into the Truss putter. Having collated data on thousands of putting strokes TaylorMade found that the main area that strikes occurred were towards the toe side of centre, causing putts to go offline. By analyzing this data TaylorMade were able to create a putter that provides high levels of stability throughout the putter stroke.
